She absolutely would not go to the hospital with us. No matter what we said. She ended up going to the ER with him later, but while we were sitting there talking to her, she says, “Do you guys want some pop? How…
You run a BLS truck, right? No heart monitor?
I’d be interested to see what a 12 lead looked like on her. We picked up a guy while I was doing clinicals. His wife called but he said nothing was wrong. No pain, no difficulty breathing, nothing. We throw the monitor on him for shits and giggles and paperwork. Massive STEMI. Massive. He kept refusing to let us take him to the hospital. We argued with him for a couple of minutes before my preceptor said, “You’re going to die. You can come with us or I can call the cops because right now you’re a danger to yourself.” He decided to go with us after that. I got to watch them cath him. 95% LAD.
But those people drive me insane. You want to help but they won’t let you do crap.
